About Us:
Netkraft was founded in 1995 as an information design company. We're
lucky enough to have spent the first 5 years of the web/internet era
right in the heart of the Silicon Alley -the competitive Northern
Virginia corridor, home to America Online, Network Solutions, and
countless internet firms and access providers. We developed into a
full-service digital marketing firm back before anyone even knew the
web was going to be this much a part of every business. Our team has
experience in traditional print, broadcast and web design and
development. Our services include design, media planning and strategy,
media buying and ad placement, marketing-driven copy editing/writing,
direct mail/email, along with custom engineering of web forms and
databases, ongoing site maintenance, and search engine optimization.
When it comes to the internet, we enjoy the challenge of creating a
product that looks great but is also easy to navigate and downloads
efficiently. We try to help our clients avoid technology overkill (no
dancing salami, that is, unless you sell salami), and strive to remain
"vendor neutral" so that we can recommend the best set of technologies
to satisfy a client's requirements -- rather than trying to force-fit
a particular solution. We work with a select group of talent, and love
to take on projects that we find interesting or challenging.
And we work for some pretty interesting folks. We have a long and
interesting client list. We've worked on projects for software
companies, real estate firms, research and development firms,
performing artists and business startups. Some of our clients are
medium-sized companies, some are family-owned companies, and some are
just a guy/girl with a laptop (or a violin) and a dream.
We help our busy clients stay current with industry trends and new
standards by reading books, magazines, and industry newsletters and
passing the relevant information along to them. Our regular
participation on Internet mailing lists and attendance at conferences
and seminars allows us to learn from the experience of others in the
business.
But we're not "geeks," and not "simply designers." Our team has more
than 40 years of combined real-world experience in project management,
software engineering, advertising/public relations, interface design,
and information design. They love the web and love developing web
sites -- they walk the talk, have been there and back, got the
t-shirts...however you want to say it, that's them to a T.
On top of all that, we're all business people. Running a
communications studio has made us all aware of the importance of
branding, fulfillment, and business processes, and we bring that
awareness to all of Netkraft projects.
